So when I make my new journal, I shall add anyone who still wants to be my friend!!

I have so many friends on here listed that either don't update much or don't have anything in common with me or don't read my journal at all.

Thanks for reading!

See you later

09:16 pm - Dr Bad-Boon is evil!

I haven't been online for a while because I bought a GAMECUBE!!

I only have 2 games so far, super monkey ball 2 and soul calibur 2

I won't bore you with how much I am impressed and hooked on these games, but my whole family and friends are addicted now too! lol

Last night we went to see Shaun of the Dead at the cinema. You have to see it, it's so funny! It's a Zombie Romantic Comedy. Loads of British humour, very refreshing.

Can't stop I'm afraid, I'm off now for a quick go on the 'cube and then Kill Bill on dvd..................nice

Apr. 13th, 2004

10:41 pm - I know that I'm haunted to be wanted......

The Rasmus are beautiful.
Their new album is beautiful.
The lead singer's voice is beautiful.,........ I love the way it almost breaks in some of the words.

I want to go to Finland, hopefully early next year. Not just because I like a couple of bands from there. It looks like an amazing country and I want to see it.

We had a lovely Easter in Cheltenham. Really cool. There was a funfair at the racecourse! yay! so naturally I went on my beloved waltzer.

There's something about the smell of the engines, candy floss and hot dogs that does it for me you know...........oh and don't get me started on the lights! I love lights!

I got to show Mike, Shakespeare's house and stuff in Stratford which was good too and then yesterday we went to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. ohhhhhhhh they had Red Panda's there! I adore those things! Mike was so cute 'cos he bought me a fluffy red panda toy from the gift shop! awwwww!

I'm actually feeling not too bad at the moment. All of last week I had tonsilitis. The doctor gave me some penicillin which got rid of it pretty quickly.

I have so many pictures to post, but neither the motivation or the inclination to do it!

Maybe tomorrow..........grrrrrrrrrr I'm so lazy.

ahhh but I have organised all my address for the Amelie Journal Project which is cool cos now everyone can start them and get them on their way.

Talk to you later

11:54 pm - :o)

Just been looking at concerts I want to go to.

Donny Osmond! ~ yay I 'm gonna take my mum to see him. It's at Leeds Castle. How fun, an open air concert in front of a really pretty castle.....lovely.

Nelly Furtado ~ I'm a bit annoyed at this one. It's in London, but I don't have anyone to go with at the moment. so we'll see after I offer money to people to go with me!

Seriously though. it's a bit pathetic to have to bribe people to go somewhere with you. I don't have anyone other than Mike, and he's not into the same stuff as me :o(

I wish that my LJ friends lived closer to me, *sigh*

Nevermind eh.

I ordered a Peter Paul and Mary Tshirt! It's so cool, I'm gonna wear it all the time! (hmmm maybe that's why I have no friends? lol)

Here are some of their lyrics:

If I had wings no one would ask me should I fly
The bird sings, no one asks why.
I can see in myself wings as I feel them
If you see something else, keep your thoughts to yourself,
I'll fly free then.

Yesterday's eyes see their colors fading away
They see their sun turning to grey
You can't share in a dream, that you don't believe in
If you say that you see and pretend to be me
You won't be then.

How can you ask if I'm happy goin' my way?
You might as well ask a child at play!
There's no need to discuss or understand me
I won't ask of myself to become something else
I'll just be me!

If I had wings no one would ask me should I fly
The bird sings, and no one asks her why.
I can see in myself wings as I feel them
If you see something else, keep your thoughts to yourself,
I'll fly free then

09:55 pm - Weekend stuff and journal ideas

Let's see...... I had another really good weekend that went too quickly for my liking but nevermind.

Friday we did the usual pizza, playstation thing in the evening.
Saturday Mike took me to his sister's for a family get together with lots of lovely food! mmmmm I discovered a love for mashed swede and carrots! lovely!
Sunday was pretty lazy, we went to the garden centre to get my mum some plants for the front garden and also some food for Rufus (my hamster). Then we came home for some dinner followed by watching the boat race and a few games of poker.
After that we went to the cinema to see SCOOBY DOO 2!
Oh you don't realise my love for Scooberd. I don't think Mike was feeling the same though :o)

You know my obsession with Amelie? Right well I belong to an Amelie community that has a group of people that are swapping journals.
I was really interested in that so I decided to make my own group because we have loads of people that weren't around when it first started.
So if anyone on my friends list is interested, leave me a comment.
Basically the idea is that we have a closed group of people. Each person buys and starts off a journal and sends it to the next person on the list.
That way everyone participates and everyone gets to keep a journal.
It doesn't have to be all amelie stuff in it. It can be things that are inspired by her or the film etc etc etc

Let me know ok?

Cheers

10:23 pm - "Dreams are like wine, and I'm drunk with mine........."

I was thinking about the concerts I've been to in the last few months.
Rufus Wainwright,
Jason Mraz,
Gary Jules,
A Perfect Circle

Later on this year I'm going to see,
Rufus Wainwright (again! can you believe it?!!)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers

I need to go and see some more!

The only trouble I have is that I don't really know anyone that likes the same music as me. It's so annoying, I mean I can bribe Mike sometimes, but that's not much fun knowing that he's hating it! lol

Anyway, I've bought a few cds and dvds recently, including
John Frusciante ~ this is a must have
Harry Connick Jnr
HIM ~ greatest hits plus dvd

El Mariachi, Desperado and Once Upon A Time In Mexico dvd box set

I also hired out 2 strange films,
Gerry and House of Fools
The latter is about a mental hospital in Russia during the recent war and one of the patients is obsessed with Brian Adams! lol He's in it too. Very mad, but pecularly entertaining. I liked 'em both!

I've just realised how boring this post is to everyone, so I'll end it here.

Talk to you later,

10:59 pm - Psychic spies from China try to steal your mind's elation......

It took me ages to log in here just then. The server was too busy :o(

I always think of loads of stuff to say in my journal, but when it comes round to it, I get writers block.

Anyway, I shall tell you what I did this weekend. ok,

Friday, was pretty cool.Mike stayed over and we got a pizza. OMG we have the best pizza delivery place near me, I swear it's the best in the world. I had cheese, tomato, tuna, red onions and sweetcorn mmmmm! and Mike had one with all different kinds of chicken on it.
My nephew Charlie normally stays over on a Friday too 'cos he loves Mike. They end up playing Playstation most of the time! lol Mike has been practicing Smackdown Here Comes The Pain, because Charlie is the master of that game and can beat anyone!

Saturday, we went shopping for Mother's day presents. Although the shopping center was packed with morons, I managed to get some cool pressies.
After the shopping, we went to our friend Richard [info]skunkmonk's house for a Chinese and some dvd watching. His fiancee Kelly [info]the_prawn was there too, I've never met her before, just chatted online, so it was really nice to meet her :o)

Sunday was Mother's Day, and we got a phonecall early in the morning to say that my Nan had fallen over and broken her hip. So my dad went to the hospital with her, while my sister and I got her clothes and stuff together and took them over.
While she was having X rays etc, I took Mike over to his mums' to give her her presents, and then we drove to Riverhead to meet up with my family for a lovely meal.
My dad didn't like leaving my nan, but she was all settled in the hospital and insisted that we all still went out!! awwwww!

So all in all, it was a fun weekend!

I was in an antique's shop today on my lunch hour and I came across a box of old photos. It reminded me of the film "one hour photo" which I saw on Saturday.
All these people must have been thought a lot of for someone to take their picture.......then I started thinking about who they were and what might have happened to them. I came across a photo of 2 young children and I had to buy it. They are so pretty!

So then I decided that I shall collect old pictures. I want to look after these memories of people who were once loved.
Yes I shall make many photo albums!

I'll try to post pictures of them at some point ...........keep watching...........

11:48 pm - Question Time.

ok so [info]jupiterschild interviewed me.......

here are the rules if you wanna play:
THE RULES :
1. Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3. You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

These are the questions that Josh asked me:

1. what do you want to be when you grow up?

I would love to be either an artist or a musician . But I guess I'll make do with working in the bank for the moment lol

2. how are things with mike?

Things are so good with Mike and I. I have found my soulmate. We have so much in common yet are so different at the same time. He completes me.

3. what is something that you don't understand about american culture?
I don't understand your tipping! I don't want to sound like Mr Pink from Reservoir dogs, but I just don't know why you have to automatically tip over there.
I think that you should only tip if you receive good service.

4. in your opinion, why should anyone who doesn't listen to matthews southern comfort take a listen?
Because their music is not like any other you may have heard. They are a rare gem, and once listened to, will change your lives forever.

5. who do you look up to the most?
Not one person in particular really. I look up to people who stand up for their rights and beliefs, people who speak their minds, non conformists and people who have overcome things in their lives.

Thanks for those questions Josh......you're a star :o)

So if anyone wants me to interview them........see the rules above

01:06 am - "It's better to break an man's leg than break his heart"

ohhh I just finished watching Seabiscuit.

I loved that film.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's a true story of a tiny racehorse who overcome adversity and changed the lives of 4 men, and the nation.

Not only was the film very gorgeous to look at, it makes you feel good too.

It's great to see people / animals overcoming odds to acheive their goals. Very inspiring.

Red Pollard is my new hero.

That man did so much. He was too tall to be a jockey, but he made people hire him as he was so good with the horses. He had an accident and went blind in one eye but refused to tell anyone and still raced even though he couldn't see how close the horses were infront! He had more accidents, one of which was when Seabiscuit smashed his leg. He was told he would never walk again, let alone ride! Being the amazing man that he was, he made a brace for his leg and rode Seabiscuit to victory even though any movement could have crippled him forever.

Wow! I'm so impressed with this film/story.

I hate hearing people moan and whine all the time over silly things, take a leaf out of Red's book please!! lol

11:24 pm - The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind..........

I was just thinking that the TV was boring tonight, when my Dad came across a Bob Dylan tribute concert!

Stevie Wonder was singing "Blowin' In The Wind" in his gospel type style.........aaaahhhh it don't come much better than that!

Anyhow! It was my sisters wedding on Saturday. We all had such a good time.
I was a bit diappointed there were no arguements or fights like usual weddings, but it was fun all the same lol.

Apart from that, nothing else has happened much....

I bought "Finding Nemo" on dvd. So good man! The bonus disc is fab, it has a virtual aquarium.

I'm gonna get an acoustic guitar this weekend I reckon, I play classical, but I wanna be Joan Baez! lol

Today I started on tidying my room......now those who know me will have probably fainted!!!

I'm just not a neat person! At work I am the opposite, I cannot stand an untidy desk or counter, urrrrrghhh!

I've given myself all this week to complete it. By doing it in small stages I enjoy it more and get it done properly.......it doesn't seem so much of a task that way.

I've cleared most of the clutter out now and it's made my mind less cluttered too......weird.

Anyway guess what?

Mike and I went to see GARY JULES on saturday. The opening act was this bloke who sounded like James Taylor......I really liked him.

Gary was amazing! Absolutely fantastic.
He actually did "Madworld" at the end, it was so ethereal, I can't even describe it.

Then afterwards, he came into the bar and we got his autograph and photo. He's such a sweet bloke. He spoke to everyone and has a really nice attitude.

I want to see him again.

I'll post the pics tomorrow for ya to have a look at k?

11:07 pm - nothing so bright

So the Rufus Wainwright tickets appeared in my letter box today, and made me the happiest girl alive!

Apparantly. it may be a tribute to Leonard Cohen, that would be great if it is.
Hopefully I'll have the chance to get some more pics with Rufie again.

I took a photo of Big Ben the other day, because it always reminds me of Peter Pan............and I so wish I was Wendy!

Nothing so bright, nothing so smooth,
nothing so pure
As my baby

All of my life days into night, all I did dream Was my baby

Until the days darkness entwined
with silver eyes
Was my baby staring at me

And since then I can't see straight
And since then my smile's been fake
Funny I know the troubles I've seen
But through one eye only that's clean

If you bring along your needles
Then I'll bring my sharpened pencils
And draw one more comic tragedy
My baby

So call up the child players
From madam we'll
rent the parlor
And dance to death
till I can't see
My baby

12:17 am - Feel the magic, hear the roar

I had a really great Valentine's weekend. (my first actually!!(

Mike bought me a gorgeous silver watch, beautiful orchids (one of my fave flowers), a balloon, a teddy and some chocolates!

My parents invited us two out for a meal with them.
I really enjoyed it! Although I must admit that I did make a bit of a pig of myself with the garlic dough balls. mmmmm deeeeelicious!

Sunday we hired out "The Transporter" and "Resident Evil"
Both fab films, but Jason Statham's American accent was appalling grrrrr!

Things seem to be going really well at the moment.

My manager was really pleased with my efforts at work today, so she bought me a massive tube of Mini Eggs!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmm! My favourite.

Also RUFUS WAINWRIGHT IS COMING TO LONDON AGAIN IN MAY WITH HIS MUM AND AUNT AND I HAVE TICKETS!!!!!

I CANNOT wait for that.

I was talking to Sam yesterday and now I need to buy some Thundercats videos. Anyone remember that? I LOVED that show.

12:49 am - APC

I've had the best 2 days off work.
Yesterday Mike and I went to London to see A PERFECT CIRCLE.
It was in the Hammersmith Apollo.
We got there a little early so we did some shopping and sat outside and had a coffee, watching the world go by.....it was warm, but there was also a very strong wind.
An hour before the doors open ,we joined the queue.
There were some amazing looking people there!! So much to look at on each person!! Fantastic.
The actual theatre was to die for! Let me tell you...as you walk into the building you notice the abundance of red velvet, mirrors and glitter balls! Our seats were upstairs which was equally as decadent. Plush red velvet seats went round in a circle, you could look over and see downstairs too which was cool. There was a bar all down oneside of the wall.

I wanted to take some pictures but cameras weren't allowed in the building. They got confiscated at the door.

The opening act was pretty good. "Auf Der Maur" The lead singer was the bassist in The Smashing Pumpkins. Can't remember her first name..........anyway, they were good, particularly the drummer.

A Perfect Circle were great too.
The only annoying thing was that the lead singer was sillouhetted for most of the show......I wanted to see him properly!!! It all adds to the mystery and ambience I suppose.

It finished at 10.30 roughly and we had to leg it back to the station 'cos we didn't want to miss the last train home.

There was just enough time to get a quick Burger King to take on there!! yay! I was Hank Marvin!

A really funny thing happened on the way home though. Our carriage was pretty empty and this businessman got on, all dressed up in his pin stripe suit and briefcase. He asked if the train was going to Sevenoaks and I told him yeh I thought so.
He seemed a little drunk, but not out of it, just a little slurry you know?

Anyway we get to Orpington and this bloke has fallen asleep and his stop is next!!
I'm praying he's gonna wake up or otherwise he's gonna end up in Dover and that's MILES away!! and there's no more trains home at that time of night.

He didn't wake up!! But being the nice girl that I am, I woke him up!! He was pleased!! He said thanks and goodnight etc and got off the train. Awwwwww I felt sorry for him.

I got the impression that he works all day and doesn't have anyone to go home to. I could be wrong though *shrugs* who knows?!

Today I went shopping with Mike to get his birthday presents.

Tomorrow night we're going to the pub to celebrate.

Yeh I've had a great 2 days off! :o)

Happy Birthday Mike

Hehe that was kinda fun.

So along with most other people on LJ, it snowed last night. Not very much, but enough to block my road. Took me an hour to get out, where it usually takes about 5 minutes! Not good.

After work I went to HMV. Bad move! I initially went to get Air's new album "Talkie Walkie" but I ended up buying 3 dvds too. Well it was 3 for ?20.
I bought "April Fools" ~ cheesy but great!
"I am Sam" ~ Apart from the brilliant soundtrack (well I would say that 'cos Rufus Wainright does a cover of "Across the Universe" mmmmm!!), Sean Penn and Michelle Pfieffer are fab

and
"Stand By Me" ~ a classic!

I've decided I want to see more live music this year. I'm going to see "A Perfect Circle" for Mike's b day. and Gary Jules in a couple of weeks too!

I wanted to get tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but they sold out in like 2 hours. :o(

I also want to do more after work, I feel like I'm wasting time.......all I ever seem to do is watch films or the TV or go online.
